Doctor's report on chest X-ray


Lungs shows an increased anterior/ posterior diameter. The lung fields are hyperlucent with mulitple blebs noted.
The diaphragm is flattened and there is some free air noted in the mediastinal space and around the cardiac shadow.
There are no signs of pulmonary edema and the cardiac silhoutte is normally sized.


Report on respiratory system


Lungs have diffuse expiratory wheezes in all fields
Air movement is diminished in the lower lobes
Oxygen saturation is 90% on room air

pO2 80 mmHg
pCO2 68 mmHg
Bicarb 29 meq



Pulmonary Function Tests


FVC 3.70 liters
FEV1 1.80 liters
FEV1/ FVC 49%
TLC 5.1 liters
