Liz Canfield received her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in May 2001. She presently teaches Women’s Studies and English courses at VCU. She is also completing course work in VCU’s Media, Art, and Text PhD program. Because she is passionate about independent publishing and bookselling, she organizes a reading series for Chop Suey Books, in addition to other community workshops and events that pertain to independent publishing, zines, and activism. She is a main organizer for the Richmond Zine Fest. Most recently, she has published poems in thINK, a handmade letterpress chapbook, and diode, an online journal. She has also performed sound and spoken word at Gallery 5’s Memento Mori exhibit as part of colectivo caliban, a collaborative sound, dance, and multimedia art collective. |
