I made my first video by taking an instructional video about making books, selecting my favorite parts, and then rearranging them to make a completely new narrative.
For my second video, I filmed my classmate Norbert Gomez. I picked a two or three minute clip of him talking about sampling, and then spliced in samples of old instructional videos that I found on archive.org. I wanted some of the samples to corroborate what Norberto says. For example, when he talks about children, I show a clip of children getting on a school bus. However, I also wanted to play with samples and the different ways that they can be used. I spliced in one toward the end of the video that might be a little unexpected. My question—what effect does this have on you as a viewer?
